Maxiröcke sind total pratisch für kleinere Mädels im Sommer: sie lassen uns optisch schön größer wirken und halten dennoch nicht zu warm bei den hohen Temperaturen. Doch auch im Winter mag ich kaum darauf verzichten - der Unterschied? Es sind meist zwei Schichten Strumpfhose darunter, davon eine Thermo. Ich kenne sogar jemanden, die vier Schichten hat wenn es Minusgrade werden, das wäre mir persönlich doch etwas zu viel :D

Dazu ist ein legeres Top natürlich auch nicht ganz geeignet, sondern viel eher ein schöner, kuscheliger, wenn möglich fluffiger(!) Pullover. Um dennoch einige Akzente für das Outfit zu setzen, habe ich noch den roségoldenen Gürtel genutzt, sowie die großen Federohrringe und somit auf eine weitere Kette verzichtet. Es ist nicht das typische Winteroutfit und macht sehr starke Andeutung zum Frühling und Sommer, aber ach, ich mag's! :)

Seriously, maxi skirts are a great addition to a small girl's wardrobe in summer: they help us look taller, optically, however maintaining a cool temperature during the hot days. But, I don't want to keep myself from wearing them in winter either - the difference? There are two layers of tights underneath it, one of which is thermal. I even know someone who wears four layers of tights when temperatures sink below zero, but for me, it would be too much to bear. :D

For this combination, a thin top wouldn't be appropriate: it needs a big, if possible fluffy(!), comfy sweater. I used the rose gold belt and feather earrings to make it look a little more special. It's not the typical outfit you'd expect in winter, since it makes a big step towards spring and summer, but I like it! :)

2014 - Das erste Ziel √

Das Erreichen und Abhaken von irgendwas aus der "Jahres-Todo-Liste" ist ein wahnsinnig schönes Gefühl. So könnt Ihr mich tatsächlich ab dem 23.01.2014 zu den Autofahrern zählen! Ich weiß, es ist viel zu spät im Vergleich zu anderen, die ihr Führerschein bereits mit 17 in der Tasche haben. Allerdings bin ich ja erst mit 17 überhaupt nach Deutschland gezogen und hatte anderes im Sinn, als sofort den Führerschein zu machen. Ich muss jedenfalls gestehen, dass es so extrem erleichternd ist, endlich auch selbst am Steuer sitzen zu können und nicht nur gefahren werden zu müssen! Ein Hoch auf das kleine, blaugrüne Kärtchen :D

Die Belohnung

Daraufhin folgte ein nicht-Bachelorarbeitsnachmittag in der Stadt, so kam es dazu, dass neue Teile mit nach Hause gekommen sind. Dafür muss ich aber wiederhin Sachen aussortieren - Ihr wisst ja, mein 1-zu-1 Prinzip. Es klappt nicht jederzeit hundertprozentig, aber ich bemühe mich! Schließlich soll man den Kleiderschrank nicht überladen, selbst wenn er drei Meter lang ist *hust*...

Und das Outfit?

Um nun den Glauben entgegenzuwirken, dass ich nur rot trage, zeige ich Euch heute mal ein Outfit, dass mich ebenso gut identifiziert. Sanfte, helle Farben: am liebsten ist mir Puderrosa. Da ich halb Asiatin bin und entsprechend ein Gelbstich in der Hautfarbe habe, dämpft Rosé eben diese Nuance ab und lässt die Haut rosiger wirken. Der Pullover gehört übrigens zur oben genannten Ausbeute. :) Um alles letztendlich zu vervollständigen wählte ich den weißen Mantel, den ich vorletztes Jahr bei Zara ergatterte. Weiß lieeebe ich!

2014 - The first goal √

To achieve and being able to cross off something off the "Year's-Todo-List" is a great source to happiness. As of January 23th, 2014, I've become a driver's license owner! I know that it is quite a late achievement compared to the ones who already have it with 17... However, since I moved to Germany just when I turned 17, there was a whole lot of stuff to think about, other than getting the driver's license. I do have to admit that it is quite a relief to finally be able to drive, instead of being driven around all the time! Thumbs up for the small greenish-blue card :D

The reward

Well, the day went on with a no-bachelorthesisafternoon in the city, where I successfully went shopping. This does mean that within the next days, a few clothing items are going to have to leave the closet - it's my 1-vs-1 principle, you know. It's not always working, but I do make efforts! After all, one should not overload the closet, even if it's three meters long *cough*...

What about the outfit?
I'm kind of guessing that everyone thinks I only wear red now, so I thought I'd show you that it is not the case with this outfit. The soft and light colors identify me just as good as red. Since I'm half Asian, I do have more yellow pigments in my skin color, so rose helps absorbing this hue really good. The sweater is part of the haul, by the way. :) To complete the look, I chose the white coat I found at Zara two years ago. Ooh, I just love white!

A Weekday's Story

Rubinrot ist ein wunderbarer Ton, meine Lieblingsfarbe, um genau zu sein. Als die liebe Verena also die neue Runde "Show your style" mit dem Motto "Party, Glitzer & Glamour" startete, hatte ich sofort dieses Kleid vor Augen. Ein ganz besonderes Modell von der Marke Weekday, das vor einem Jahr bei mir einzog. Es liegt zwar so eng an, dass bei jeder Bewegung Falten unvermeidbar sind, aber ach, ich nehm's in Kauf. 

Den Part "Glitzer" des Mottos ist bei mir sehr gering gehalten und reduziert auf die Ohrringe und die filigrane Kette. Viel mehr brauchte das Oufit nämlich nicht, um beeindruckend zu wirken, finde ich. Der einzige weitere Begleiter ist die two-tone Clutch. Bei mir gilt ziemlich oft: weniger ist mehr!

Und oh, oh, oh! Ich habe mich zum ersten Mal richtig hingesetzt und geschminkt! Seit einem Jahr benutze ich schon kein Eyeshadow mehr, weil die kleine Linie mit dem Eyeliner reichte. Ich hoffe, es gefällt! :)

Ruby red is truly beautiful to me, it's also my favorite color, actually. So when Verena started a new round of "Show your style" with the theme "Party, glitter & glamour", I immediately thought about this dress. It's a very special piece from Weekday, which moved in with me last year. Unfortunately, since the cut is really tight, wrinkles appear whenever you move but, I'm willing to put up with it for this amazing dress.

I didn't exactly expand the "glitter" part of the motto and rather reduced it to the earrings and the small M-necklace

. In my opinion, the outfit didn't need more accessory to be glamorous. The only item I've added to the whole is the two-tone clutch in black. I often rely on the quote "less is more". 

And oh, guess what? I've really taken some time to make a real eye make-up. It's been a year since I last used eyeshadow, since drawing a line with the eyeliner was enough for me. Hope that you like it! :)

Flea market discoveries, part I: Jewelry

Drei Flohmarktlieblinge meiner Schmuckabteilung :)

Der filigrane Halsreif, der bereits hier zu sehen war, fand ich eines Tages auf dem Schanzenflohmarkt. Unscheinbar wie er ist, schien der Fund für mich fast wie ein Zufall - genau wie beim Outfit: er trägt zur Eleganz bei, ohne zu sehr in Vordergrund zu treten. Bei der zweiten und dritten Kette habe ich nicht viel zu erzählen, außer: "Bombe! Komm.sofort.mit!". 

Flohmärkte sind eine wundervolle Erfindung. Sie fassen für mich drei schöne Fakten zusammen:

1. ein Spaziergang, das komplett unabhängig vom Wetter geschieht und gaaaanz leicht mit Sport vergleichbar ist (würde ich mir wünschen....);
2. Kleidungsstücke, die nicht mehr gebraucht und geliebt werden woanders, bekommen bei uns eine zweite Chance :) ;
3. sie sind geldbeutelschonend - ich könnte nicht ausrechnen, was für eine riesen Summe ich bereits gespart habe durch die Entscheidung "Flohmarkt statt Mönckebergstraße", vor allem weil ich immer so gerne neue Kleidungsstücke im Schrank habe. Es ist ein kleines Gefühl von Glück, wenn frau es kaum erwarten kann, mit einer neuen Kombination zu experimentieren.

Aus dem Grund habe ich einige Goldstücke aus dem Schrank geholt, die ehemals vom Flohmarkt stammten. Ich würde keins davon abgeben wollen. <3 Vielleicht ist es der Beginn einer neuen Serie von Posts über Errungenschaften, die allerdings aus zweiter, oder sogar dritter Hand sind, wer weiß? :)

These are my three favorite jewelry items from the "flea market collection". :D

The delicate choker in the first photo has already been seen here. I found it on a hamburger market, quite out of the blue. It is an accessory which increases elegance for an outfit, without pushing itself into the foreground. As for the second and third necklace, there is not much to say about the purchase, maybe except for: "Woot! Come.with.me.now!"

Flea markets are a wonderful invention. They group three nice facts together:

1. taking a stroll, no matter what weather it is outside, which is kind of comparable to sports (I'd wish!);
2. pieces of clothes that are unwanted or unloved somewhere else, get a second chance in our closets :) ; 
3. it's quite a relief for the purse - I couldn't imagine how much money I've saved through the decision "flea markets instead of shopping streets", especially because I always love it to have new clothes. It really is a glimpse of happiness, when you can't wait to experiment a new outfit combination.

I chose some darling pieces that I found on such markets to show you here. I wouldn't give any of those away. <3 Maybe this will be the first post of many about second- or third-hand acquainted items, who knows? :)

Das Ende des Studiums ist im Blick und der Wochen-Countdown läuft. Nach beinah vier Jahren Arbeit kommt endlich das lang ersehnte Resultat... oder ist es eher eine Angst, eine Unsicherheit, die zum Vorschein kommt? Bei mir ist es beides, wie bestimmt bei vielen anderen auch: ich freue mich tierisch auf diese scheinbare Freiheit, doch der Schritt in die reale, schwierige Arbeitswelt ist daran gekoppelt. Ich habe DAS große Glück, jetzt schon ein festes Angebot zu haben, und nicht verzweifelt nach einer Stelle suchen zu müssen. Allerdings weiß ich bereits, dass keine Jeans oder gemütliche Pullover dort toleriert werden.

Es geht also darum, sich selbst jetzt nicht zu verlieren, aber dabei korrekt gekleidet auf der Arbeit zu erscheinen. Dazu würfelte ich letztens mein erstes Outfit zusammen. Sehr Business-lastig, jedoch kann ich mich dabei noch ein kleines bisschen mädchenhaft fühlen. Die Kombination aus dem Lederrock, Spitzenbluse und Blazer mit Satin-Bordüre kam dabei raus, und es fühlt sich genau richtig an!

The end is near. My studies are soon to end, and the countdown in weeks has begun. After almost four years of work, this is what I had been looking forward to... or is it more the fear and insecurity that's coming? I'm experiencing both sides, and I guess I'm not the only one in this situation: I'm thrilled to soon have this freedom, but the step into the job market is linked with it, for real. I'm SO lucky to already have a firm offer, not having to seek for a job. However, I also know that jeans and cozy sweaters won't be tolerated there.

Now it all comes down to not losing yourself whilst showing up in appropriate clothes at the office. I took a try and mixed together an outfit which is very business-orientated, but still made me feel a little girly at the same time. The combination of faux-leather skirt, all-over-lace blouse and blazer with satin borders resulted out of it, and it feels just right!

Die Liebe für Mode war bei mir schon immer da, vor allem wenn es um Selbstgemachtes geht, allerdings fehlte bisher die Zeit und Geduld zum Nähen. Letztens wanderte ich auf DIY-Blogs und entschied mich endlich dafür, was kleines zu fabrizieren: es kam ein roter Bleistiftrock heraus. Es sollte knielang werden, aber irgendwie habe ich mich vermessen und es wurde zum Minirock :D - zum Glück ist es noch eine tragbare Länge gewesen.

Für das erste Experiment blieb das Design sehr klassisch, aber nächstes Mal wird bestimmt mit Spitzenbordüren oder Spitzeneinsätzen gespielt! :) Vielleicht kommt die Gelegenheit dafür ja bald.

Die Tasche ist beim Fotografieren sehr in Vordergrund gesprungen, was ich aber erst im Nachhinein festgestellt habt, daher folgen nun ein paar Zeilen darüber. Sie wurde auf dem Flohmarkt gefunden an einem Tag, wo es regnete und quasi nichts los war. Ich ging schon davon aus, dass ich mit leeren Händen nach Hause gehe. Die Tasche sah aber so entzückend aus, dass ich sie mitnehmen musste; ehrlich gesagt, sieht sie sowieso besser aus in meinem Schrank, als auf dem Händlertisch da draußen. ;)

I've always been fond of clothes, especially when it comes to custom-made items, but rarely had the time and patience to sit down and sew. Lately however, while browsing through numerous "Remake" and "DIY" Blogs for fashion, I've finally decided to tackle a small challenge: a pencil skirt in red. I wanted it to have a knee length, but it turned out mini - luckily, it was still a length I could wear. :D 

For the first experiment, the design remained classical, but the next time, lace inserts and/or borders are also going to be included! :) Maybe there will be an opportunity sometimes soon.

The focus of the outfit shifted to the bag while shooting, which I realized a little late, so the next few lines are dedicated to it. I found it on a flea market, on a day where I thought I'd go home empty-handed, because it was raining and there were only a few sellers left. It looked so charming that it had to be taken home; frankly, it has a better place in my closet than being abandoned on the seller's table anyway. ;)
